Lyric Uncorked

Designed for people who want to get more from the

opera experience – whether longtime fans or just getting acquainted –

Lyric Uncorked is a casual event offered several times each season that

offers background on how an opera comes together, a visit from one of

the creative artists, and behind-the-scenes access at the Civic Opera

House. Relax, have some wine, and learn a lot about opera! New

subscribers are invited to attend one free Lyric Uncorked event each

season.

Stars of Lyric Opera at Millennium Park: September 11, 2015

Each September, Chicago’s music lovers come out to experience

the Stars of Lyric Opera at Millennium Park, a free concert under

the stars. Pack your picnic basket and bring your friends to enjoy

a performance featuring acclaimed Lyric star voices with the Lyric

Opera Orchestra. The Millennium Park concert is sure to whet your

appetite for the much-anticipated season opening!

Second Nature

A new children’s opera by Matthew Aucoin

Wednesday, August 19 & Thursday, August 20, 2015 • Lincoln Park Zoo

Second Nature

is set in the not-so-distant future, when the

environment has deteriorated and humans live in zoo-like habitats that

protect them from the outside world. Encouraged by the other animal

inhabitants, two young children dare to explore the world outside the

walls to see if there is still something worth saving. Recommended for

children 8-12. Directed by Matthew Ozawa.
