I started the craft

of “directing” at an early age, for example,

directing my cousins in made-up shows for

family gatherings. But I think my first professional

directing job for a paying public audience

(outside college) was an off-off-Broadway

interdisciplinary play that I conceived,

produced, wrote, and directed when I was 24.
