11 BOTTLES OF LA MISSION HAUT-BRION IN
HONOR OF THE WOMEN’S BOARD’S ELEVENTH
WINE AUCTION!
A
ll the wines in this vertical are intense, with undeniable
richness, opulence and charm.
The wine is full-bodied,
concentrated and requires several years to develop with perfume
of smoke, tobacco, earth, truffle, spice and cassis scents. This lot
that spans of some the finest vintages in Bordeaux is a study of
La Mission. While the
1985
and
1986
were considered several
of the finest vintages, the wine has changed in style to the point
that the
2000
and
2001
might be tasting bolder now, with
deeper notes of red fruits and velvety tannins. In fact,
La Mission
Haut-Brion 2000
earned accolades upon its release, including
a perfect
100-point ranking
from Robert Parker. He also says
it will soon take its place among the Estate’s most hallowed
vintages. And you will have two!
Note: Torn capsule on one of the 1986 vintage bottles.
