CHÂTEAU MOUTON-ROTHSCHILD SPEAKS
IN THREE FANTASTIC VINTAGES.
M
ay we suggest that you consider starting with the
1996
? It came
through as an ultra-ripe vintage, and is drinking beautifully now.
Its super full-body is enticing with subtlety and complexity, but it’s
revealedmostly through its long caressing finish.
2002
is especially
outstanding, offering a complex nose of ripe black currant and licorice
mingled together with spicy notes of gingerbread andmild sweet
caramel, mocha and candied peel. The velvety tannins are supremely
integrated. It’s a tough find in themarket but a great catch for a lucky
buyer here.
2006
was a classic year for Mouton, with Robert Parker
awarding
98+ points.
Perfumedwith crème de cassis, flowers, and
blueberries, and only a hint of oak, it is noted for its extraordinary
purity and clarity.
Note: One 1996 base neck level.
Ultra-ripe. Complex. Classic. Any of these bottles calling
your name?
