The Next of Kyn Cumulus Vineyard Syrah is an extremely
expressive wine, deep in color with sweet notes of cassis,
acacia flowers, licorice and a hint of pepper. It’s wildly intense
with a full-bodied texture that is sure to please. The immense
purity of the fruit gives the 2009 tons of elegance and character
and at the same time, big, rich, silky tannins. This blend of 80%
Syrah, 14% Grenache and 6% Roussanne is shaping up to show its
expressiveness and pedigree.
This Is Not An Exit Estate Syrah is a similar blend, with fruit from
his Santa Rita Hills Eleven Confessions Vineyard plus a classic 1%
dose of Viognier. The fruit bursts with rich kirsch, flower oil, smoked
meats, licorice and graphite. It then hits the palate with intense
richness, depth and loads of fruit with a blockbuster finish.

from a short half hour of decanting to allow the deep ruby colored
concentrated wine to breathe. You’ll maximize the aromas of black
currant and cassis, and the lively flavors of blackberry and raisin.
