Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery. The Van Winkle family’s four
generation involvement in the bourbon industry began in the
late 1800s with Julian P. “Pappy” Van Winkle, Sr. Today, all their
whiskeys are produced using a precise distillation process, and a
unique recipe of corn, wheat, and, barley (instead of corn, rye and,
barley). This family exclusive “wheated” recipe gives the Pappy
Van Winkle bourbons their distinctive softer, smoother taste.
The
12 Year Van Winkle Special Reserve
is a sweet, full-bodied
whiskey that has been described by some as “Nectar.” We agree!
The 12 years of aging and medium proof of 90.4 seem to be just
right: “Well crafted…elegant, stately…balanced beautifully,” says
F. Paul Pacult’s
Spirit Journal
. This fine bourbon competes with any
excellent cognac.

15 Year Family Reserve
