From the fantastic structure of the highly regarded, rich and
opulent 1995 Château Margaux to the elegant and floral
Saint-Julien stunner Ducru-Beaucaillou, these are wines that will
dazzle your palate. Save the spectacular sweet Château D’Yquem
for just the right foie gras dish or as dessert on its own, and take
note of the lovely honeyed hints of candied apricots in this late-
harvest Sauterne wine.
The history and success story of the Kapcsandy family along and
their rise to 100-point wines is yet another big draw for this group.
The Colgin IX, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet
Franc and Petit Verdot, is distinguished by complex fruit. The
blend has extraordinary intensity and a purity of flavor along with
a remarkably long finish. From the eastern hillsides of northern
Napa Valley the highly-acclaimed Hundred Acre has astonishing
texture, a full-body and extraordinary richness. It brings opulence
to this group. This Insignia, Wine Spectator’s #1 Wine of the Year in
2005, boasts an amazing Bordeaux blend of grapes primarily from
estate-owned vineyards in Stag’s Leap and Rutherford. Last but
clearly not least, the Quilceda Creek puts Washington Cabernet
on the map and this 2005 was an outstanding vintage. There’s
only 3%Merlot in this beauty, which is aged for 22 months in new
French oak. Perfumed with violets, truffles and black cherries. It
rounds off this heavenly lot—may the best bidder float away with
this bounty.
