OUTSTANDING WINES FOR AN
OUTSTANDING WOMAN.
T
his is one of the best wines of its vintage.
Margaux 2011
boasts enticing aromas of plum, cassis, dark cherries and
minerals with silky flavors of sweet spices, herbs, smoke and
black currant. The wine is firmly built and very pure with smooth,
ripe tannins and outstanding length. This vintage blends 86%
Cabernet Sauvignon and 10%Merlot, along with equal parts Petit
Verdot and Cabernet Franc, giving the wine its deep ruby color.
For the finale, the wine finishes long and smooth, lingering
as one would hope. Still an infant in age, drinking it now will
delight both old- and new-world wine fans, as will laying it down
some 20-40 years.
Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has an
exceptional personality compared with the other crus of the
Pauillac appellation. Complexity, elegance and longevity are the
hallmarks of this estate, and those characteristics are found in
every single vintage. Remember our earlier reference to it as a
Grande Dame? The very grand
2003 Lalande
is big and dense,
displaying a beautiful combination of wood, acidity, tannin, and
alcohol. Enjoy now or cellar for 20 years to come.
