THIS PERSONALLY SELECTED MAGNIFICENT
MIXED CASE OF 2000 GRAND-CRU BORDEAUX
WILL SET WINE-LOVERS’ HEARTS AFLUTTER.
C
hâteau
Pichon Lalande
is among the best examples of
Bordeaux wine from Pauillac. Often characterized by its
sensuous textures, deep concentrated layers of ripe fruit and a
perfume filled with earth, tobacco and cassis are what you’ll find
in this 2000 Pichon Lalande.
Château
Figeac
, the largest Saint-Émilion vineyard, takes a savoir-
faire approach to wine-growing, developed from a mix of tradition
and innovation. The characteristic freshness of Figeac 2000 is
accompanied by great length of flavor, and its long aging potential
allows the wine to go on in time to reveal hints of forest floor,
leather, cigar-box and licorice—always with its hallmark elegance.
Château
Troplong Mondot
sits on the top of a hill, dominating
the surrounding Saint-Émilion countryside. The vineyard, planted
on a plateau of optimal sunlight and perfect natural drainage
possesses a secret alchemy which lends itself to the superior
quality of its
terroir
. Powerful, well-structured with pronounced
complex tannins, 2000 Troplong Mondot offers deep aromas of
truffles and blackberry fruit.
Note: Two torn labels.
Cos d’Estournel has become the archetype of a certain style
of masculine elegance in which immense power is combined
with grace and smoothness.
A deep color with hints of violet, the
spicy nose with notes of orange peel and black currant leaves lead
to a gentle attack on the palate with a tightly woven, very smooth
texture. This delicious, elegant, clean, and superbly balanced wine
brings a long finish, and can be enjoyed now to 2025.
