THESE MOUTON, WITH THEIR IMPRESSIVE
COMPLEXITY AND BRILLIANCE, ILLUMINATE
BORDEAUX AT ITS FINEST.
T
hese esteemed Château Mouton-Rothschild wines remain
legends of Bordeaux.
The crème de cassis and underlying
floral notes in the
1982 (an impressive 100-pointer)
brightens
all the senses, then the full-bodied power, extraordinary purity,
and multilayered texture further the wow with each sip. Of course
the finish, which easily lasts over a minute, makes this wine a true
showcase for what this Château accomplished in this vintage.
The
1986
is another 100-point Parker score
, and is still amazingly
youthful, vibrant, and pure. It embodies everything a great
mature claret should be, with aromas of tobacco and black olives,
sumptuous texture, and a haunting aftertaste.
Note: Vintage 1986 bottles are all top shoulder level.
