30TH ANNIVERSARY MOUTON IN “OWC”

he 1985 vintage celebrates the 30th anniversary of this

excellent wine.

This case was bought on release and stored

at optimum conditions since that time.

This Château Mouton

Rothschild, owned by (the late) Baroness Philippine de Rothschild

and her children, is regarded as one of the world’s greatest wines.

It wasn’t until 1973 that the Baron obtained the revision of the

1855 classification so Mouton would be officially recognized as a

First Growth. In celebration of the liberation of France, the label

started off with a V for Victory and since has had an ever-changing

label for each vintage, each created by a famous painter. The blend

for this vintage: 10% Cabernet Franc, 75% Cabernet Sauvignon,

12%Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot.

This supple, velvety-textured,

rich, forward, long and sexy Mouton is clearly one of the finest

Médoc first-growth in 1985.
