WE THINK OF THIS AS THE JAMES BOND OF
WINES. “BRION. HAUT BRION.” A PERFECT
100-POINT IMPERIAL .
F
ull-bodied, with incredible structure, this wine is so powerful
in tannins, yet so polished. The extraordinary nose of plum,
blueberry, raspberry, crushed rock, and that intriguing floral from
the Graves shouts out distinct
terroir
. There’s a vibrancy and
precision to this wine that is unprecedented, and
Robert Parker
agreed by awarding it 100 points
. One of the most structured
Haut-Brions, the wine has 15% Cabernet Franc, a bit more than is
typical. It’s clearly made to age for decades, so don’t be in a hurry
to open this. Tomorrow never dies.
This imperial presentation will tempt even the most civilized
among us, but we would not recommend shaking, nor stirring.
